Decades later, in 1993, a new Municipal Library opened under Mayor Luz R. Bayot. The 82-square-meter space held 1,046 books from the National Library, local donations, and city funds. Its new Library In-Charge, Mrs. Mariter Ortiz, had trained through seminars of the National Library of the Philippines and the Association of Librarians in Public Sector.
