HCPL’s Seven Decades of Service and Beyond
It’s Library Month, and our October Library Awareness series closes with the full story — from 1953 to today.
From a small reading room built by Mayor Federico Tabino, Gov. Valeriano Gatuslao, and Mrs. Amanda Gimotea, to a thriving, digital-ready hub under Vice Mayor Justin Gatuslao — who saw its enduring value, reimagined it for a new generation, and established safeguards to ensure its continuous innovation and transformation — the Himamaylan City Public Library has remained a safe, open, and welcoming space for all.
Seventy years later, the doors are still open — and the story of learning, progress, and community continues with us.
