From Local to National: HCPL’s Award-Winning Rise
It’s Library Month, and our October Library Awareness series continues — this time, celebrating milestones of excellence.
Under the leadership of Vice Mayor Justin Gatuslao and Officer-in-Charge Mr. Teddy S. Robles, the Himamaylan City Public Library received national acclaim. In 2022, the Himamaylan City Public Library earned the Gawad Parangal for outstanding public library service.
In 2024, HCPL was named Most Innovative Public Library at the 6th Gawad Pampublikong Aklatan in two categories—Progressive (Kiddie Learning Train) and Adaptive (Gabay at Turo and Civil Service Review).
Its Digitalino: Digital Literacy Initiative was also commended for effective and practical impact. A small city library had become a model of innovation nationwide.
