Bayan Ko, Titser Ko Launching

Across the country, Himamaylan City is proud to be one of the chosen locations of Bayan Ko, Titser Ko program. On October 11, 2024, we proudly launched the “ Bayan Ko, Titser Ko program: Training of Tutors “ at the Himamaylan City Public Library. Under the leadership of Hon. Justin Dominic Silos Gatuslao and in partnership with Angat Buhay, headed by chairperson and President, atty. Maria Leonor “Leni” G. Robredo, and Executive Director, Mr. Raphael Martin R. Magno along with faculty and students from WVSU-Him and dedicated LGU volunteer teachers.

During the launch of the Bayan Ko, Titser Ko program, five trainers (Ma’am Jonalyn Duhaylungsod, Ma’am Janice Castillo, Sir Kent Escobin, Ella Veraguas, and Kiert Jan Parcero) who completed the “Training of Trainers” program in Quezon City from August 8-11, 2024, led training sessions for students and volunteers. These individuals will be deployed to partner public elementary schools, including San Agustin, To-oy, Doña Gregoria, and Doña Julita Elementary Schools, to identify struggling learners who will benefit from the program.

The event was attended by Vice Mayor Justin S. Gatuslao, Dr. Marlyn Villamor Rivera from WVSU-Him, Sir Rey Libo-on from To-oy Elementary School, and two teacher representatives, who witnessed and signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The launch concluded with a shared optimism and commitment among participants, all eager to implement initiatives aimed at positively impacting struggling learners in the Himamaylan community.
